This IDC study discusses the results of a Web-based survey on a number of topics including outsourcing, elearning content and technologies, and training budgets. The survey was conducted in April 2003 by IDC and Training magazine, which extended email invitations to participate to several thousand purchasers and influencers. This study explores trends in the enterprise learning management system (LMS) market from the purchaser's point of view. It examines existing LMS penetration, new LMS adoption, needs driving adoption, LMS uses, suppliers of choice, and buyer satisfaction. "More and more, senior training and development professionals are being asked to enhance employee performance in the context of organizational strategy," said Michael Brennan, program manager of IDC's Learning Services research practice.
